Friday, September 27, 2013The vice president and minister of Women’s Affairs Thursday morning held talks with the First Lady of Nigeria’s Oyo State on issues bordering on strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two destinations, especially in the area of tourism.
Her Excellency Florence Ajimobi, who is in the country for a three-day visit, was accompanied to the presidency by Nigeria’s high commissioner to The Gambia, Esther John Audu.
Speaking at the end of her meeting with Vice President Aja Dr. Isatou Njie-Saidy, Ajimobi said her State wants to establish fruitful working relations with The Gambia in the area of tourism. This, she underscored, is expected to further cement the bilateral cooperation between The Gambia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Describing her discussion with the vice president as “fruitful”, she hinted that when she returns, they will start to document their discussion and subsequently invite The Gambia to Nigeria for the legalisation of the intended partnership.
She used the opportunity to commend the government of The Gambia for her efforts in strengthening the mutual bilateral cooperation with Nigeria. She specifically hailed the vice president for what she called the warm reception accorded to her and delegation.
While anticipating for a successful and beneficial cooperation between Oyo State and The Gambia, Ajimobi assured of their commitment to strengthen the relations.
