Wednesday, October 02, 2013The business sector in Indonesia through its ambassador in Dakar, Senegal in collaboration with The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has stormed The Gambia to explore possible business opportunities in the country.
In a one day seminar held at the GCCI head office in Bijilo on Tuesday, the president of Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Muhammeh M. Jagana, described the trade expo as very important as , The Gambia could learn a lot from it and the business sector could use the opportunity to market its services and products to the world.
H.E. Andradjati the Indonesian ambassador in Dakar said he is in the country to explore the business opportunities and to introduce more Asian products to The Gambia, noting that there are many business opportunities in the country that Indonesia can explore.
Ambassador Andradjati explained that his country and The Gambia share a lot in common as both have large Muslim populations. The ambassador also said his government through its trade department could facilitate business opportunities between Banjul and Jakarta.
The session also accorded participants the opportunity to ask questions. Some expressed their concern over the distance between the two countries and the financial implications. But Ambassador Andradjati assured the participants that his government in collaboration with GCCI would endeavor to help anyone who wants to do business either in The Gambia or Indonesia.
