The president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh continues to receive more messages from Gambians from all walks of life, felicitating him on the occasions of the various national events or feasts, as well as thanking him for his numerous gestures extended to the citizenry.
The letters read:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, I wish to extend my sincere greeting to Your Excellency, the president of the Republic of The Gambia, Sheikh Professor Dr. Alhagie Yahya A.J.J Jammeh. It indeed gives me honor and pleasure to thank you for the kind gestures and good wish you have for our dear country, The Gambia.
Your Excellency, we have seen you since 1994 to date and we are grateful to experience progressive development in the areas of health, education, infrastructure, transport, fisheries to mention but a few.
My name is Buba K. Daffeh, a Gambian national, born in Jula Kunda Village, Kiang West District, Lower River Region. I am a teacher, who studies Science and S.E.E at the Gambia College School of Education. I teach in different schools in the rural Gambia.
I never rest my brain due to four reasons and these are: the progress of the country, the peace and security of The Gambia, your health and your progress. These four are your key priority areas of concern. But for me, I also concentrate more on your health and your progress, because of the simple reason that we the people of The Gambia cannot achieve progress with peace and security when your health and progress are at risk.
All these points that I have mentioned above is because I have seen something which still exist and I did not appreciate it. I am not a nurse, but my perception is that, this may affect your health later your aged. I would love you to serve that later for the people of The Gambia, achieving your wishes mission and vision for The Gambia.
My President all these words come deep in my heart, because I belief my parent take care of me to be a responsible person in the future and living in a happy life, as you are serving the same purposes for the Gambian populace. We also have good dreaming heart for you to live forever.
It comes as a result, when you rise up in the convoy to give appreciation and satisfaction to the people whom may not have chance to see you until such occasions. In that, you may inhale the deep air blowing. This is my fear, concerning your health, sometimes, other vehicle might be in front which may produce dust and also smoke (carbon mono oxide), all of which may be inhale with the air into your system. Sir, if possible, to have another strategy, which may prevent you from this air but will not bar your vision with the people. Such as, plastic glass which can be used as a decorative and will prevent you from the direct air at you height from the top of your vehicle.
These was a dream in me since five years back but there were set backs due to some reason and hoping that a development might come. But still this feature exists. As the saying goes (better later than never). As I believe that is the right time God the Almighty decides giving me the zeal to write this message and I wish it will reach you in the fastest action.
I pray for God to give you long life and happiness, may God help and may God guide you in your endeavor to be able to take the State to your wish and not only The Gambia but also the whole of Africa. God, if due to my sins this prayer cannot be accepted, Allah take the honor from your great and faithful ones to answer this prayers amen. Thank you Mr. President.
Buba K. Daffeh
