The Gambians in United States of American did make us proud after showing their anger and profound disapproval against Dictator Yahya Jammeh and his entourage. The Kanilai killer is hurt and humiliated and now wounded. A man who thinks the world is under his feet until few young men and women prevented him from even getting fresh air from a simple hotel balcony. This was the greatest most humiliating coup any Dictator can wish for. Now what can he do? He is humiliated and shamed before the eye of the international community. Gambians also watched everything on You Tube and Social media thus sharing every story with Gambians back home that until then feared and despise the tyrant. Gambians inside the Gambia knew a coward backed by guns and batons now rule them and he is back home preparing revenge, which is why he came up with his confused statement against Mandinka, UK and US calling them all sorts of names. Gambians knew Yahya hates Mandinkas and anything associated with Mandinkas.
It was reported when Ndure Cham and co staged their coup, when Yahya was helped by Lang Tombong Tamba, immediately he landed at Banjul international airport, the first question he asked Lang Tombong was: How many Mandinkas are involved? This was when so many young Mandinka officers like Wassa Camara, Faring Sanyang Yahya Darboe ect all Mandinkas, were rounded up and tortured then forced to confess to a crime they knew very little about. Gambians have to be very careful for this monster wants genocide and to achieve it, he would continue to provoke Mandinkas to a corner until Mandinkas retaliate. When he killed the students, more Mandinkas died than any other. When he killed Daba Marena and co, more Mandinkas died. When he killed the 9 prisoners, more Mandinkas were taken to the gallows and it is not only Mandinkas he kills because he always wants to hide his hatred for Mandinkas by adding other tribes to his bloodbath against the Mandingoes. The other tribes must also understand we are in this together because any three Mandinkas he kills, he must add one Fula, Jola, wollof, Serer, Serahule, or Manjak. This man’s brutality is beyond bounds. There is no single tribe that has never suffered from Yahya Jammeh’s brutality.
The Gambia, once a very peaceful Country of great human beings with respect round the globe for over 30 years before this young Yahya Jammeh took power at the age of 29 years in a military coup. A country that was known for its hospitality friendly smiles to guest has now been made a nation of envy and common hatred for one another and mistrust for a next door neighbour. When is this madness going to end? Do we need this we the young generation having to hate each other just because of one man whose selfish desire is leading us all against each other?
Gambia today the amount of human right abuse and deterioration of respect for rule of law, disregard for freedom of speech cannot be compared to any nation not even in North Korea. The unlawful detention, torture of innocent people cannot be measured in our country now a days is too shameful for any to call himself/herself a Gambian. How can a nation that calls itself a democratic country with an elected President parade a tortured detainee on National television in a civilized world? People that claimed to be protecting human liberty would abuse it publicly and yet they would shamelessly walk the streets proudly as brave men/women. A human being that tortures a fellow human being unlawfully cannot claim humanity. They belong to the kingdom of beast not even animals because animals have senses that makes them reason. The Gambia today under Yahya Jammeh is ranked the 105th countries in the world for her corruption by amnesty international’s 2012 transparency perceptions index. A country that openly claims to be a religious nation of God fearing people yet the involvement the President in drug trafficking is no secret.
When the Gambia government announced that our country has withdrawn from the commonwealth, I could not belief my ears because withdrawing from the commonwealth with such flimsy excuses sound like when the Gambia government announced that Daba Marena and co escaped when they were being transported from Mile 2 to Janjanbury. How could such things be possible? Does the Gambia government think Gambians are donkeys or dogs with no brains? Even completely brain damaged hospitalized people cannot belief such crazy lies. Again because they thought they were able to fool Gambians with those Daba Marena and co mad stories, this time again they can come up with more unimaginable lies. Gambia has withdrawn from the commonwealth because of neo- Colonialism. What a brainless imagination? What about the UN? Is it not another neo-colonialist institution? How about UNDP and many other institutions. In fact to crown it all what about our official language, courts administrative set up and the like no doubt these people have not only run out of ideas but they have even run out of lies as well.
Our country is withering deeper down the drain and if our elders are getting too old to tackle this monster, let we the youth take up the role without delay. Tribalism has never been an issue in the Gambia since its foundation but since the coming into power of this monster, our country has on many occasions been drawn on to tribal hatred. All the time it is Yahya Jammeh trying to fan the flame of tribal hatred but would Gambians listen to him?
